Bemis Building's 2010 Spring Art Show

After reviewing the contract I realized this exhibit hangs for one day - Saturday May 15th from noon to 10 pm. That would have meant 4 trips to Seattle and a $50 "hanging" fee... so I declined the acceptance to this exhibit.

I submitted six mixed media pieces to Bemis Building's Spring Exhibit...
Favorite words for an artist to read or hear:

"Congratulations! You are cordially invited to be a part of the Bemis Building's 2010 Spring Art Show. "

Travel Sketching/Watercolor/Pencil Workshop June 26th from 9 to 2pm
Ever wonder why we rarely relive our travels through photos? Perhaps because taking a photo requires so little investment of one’s attention. Artistic journaling slows your pace, as you observe a scene for at least as long as it takes to sketch it. Journaling is solely for pleasure – it doesn’t require that you be an accomplished artist. Regardless of skill level, you’ll be amazed how quickly your drawing and watercolor skills improve – within hours! We'll visit and sketch some of Olympia’s interesting locales. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be dedicated to journaling. Olympia Parks and Recreation – 222 Columbia Street NW, Olympia WA 98501 www.olympiawa.gov/experienceit Call 360.753.8380

Collage: Exploring the Written Word through Art Saturday July 10th

After the completion of each collage, a short paragraph based on a writing prompt/exercise will be completed that ties into the particular piece of artwork like “Is this Muse/Guide trying to tell you something?” Material fee $5.00 Auburn Parks & Recreation 2840 Riverwalk Dr Se, Auburn, WA 98002 (253) 931-3907
